Finding the Wild (Jazmin Charalambous & Felix Mohr) make sculpture, performance, and participatory works rooted in ecological research. Their practice moves slowly — through contaminated ground, living organisms, and overlooked materials. They ask what it means to pay attention to the more-than-human world at a time when it is disappearing.

                     AWARD

                    Symbiose – 1st Prize 

      Finding the Wild was awarded the 1st Prize for the Kunst am Bau competition for the new lecture hall building at the Technical University of Bingen (TH Bingen). The site-specific wall installation takes lichen as its central motif, using its symbiotic structure as a model for processes of exchange and collaboration within the university context. It reflects how knowledge emerges through the interconnection of disciplines, people, and perspectives. The ceramic lichen formations unfold across the interior concrete wall of the building’s public function space, responding to its open and communicative spatial character.  

                  

                 
        EXHIBITION

                       Lange Kunstnacht, Plochingen

                       Finding the Wild will be showing new work as part of "0000", a group exhibition of scholarship holders at Alte Steingießerei, Plochingen, opening during Lange Kunstnacht on 15.05.2026.

        The evening opens at 18:00 with a vernissage and words from art critic Dr. Tobias Wall, followed by a guided tour at 20:00. Our studios in the Ateliergebäude will also be open from 19:00... come and see where the work happens. Full programme here.

                            PROJECT FUNDING

                          “Alternativ-Wasen”

            Finding the Wild has received project funding from the City of Stuttgart for Alternativ-Wasen, a new research project investigating the material metabolism of the Cannstatter Wasen festival site.

            From April to August 2026 we'll be on the ground — walking the site, documenting what we find, and translating it into drawings, material experiments, and spatial proposals.

            Finding the Wild has been selected as scholarship holders at Kulturpark Dettinger for season Jan 2026– Dec 2028.

            One of Baden Württemberg's most respected artist residency programmes, Kulturpark Dettinger has been home to some of the region's most significant artistic practices over the years. We're proud to be joining that community and look forward to seeing what three years in one place makes possible.
